    Management quota should not be focused on while preparing for the CAT exam. Colleges offer admission on merit but few seats are left for management quota which are kind of risk management by colleges. There would be certainly some section of the society which lives on management quota that is the students get admission through management quota only. The fees for such students are almost doubled as compared to the normal students.

    Hello,
    MBA colleges with management quota are a gift for candidates who are talented but fail to perform well in the final and entrance exams. Management quota admission is where 10% of seats are reserved for these gullible students and the admissions are based only on the extra money donated to the colleges. All the colleges providing such seats are self-financed. Institutions/colleges charge more fees for management quota students and it may vary from one college to another depending upon the rankings, resources and facilities they provide.     Management quota admission is where 10% of seats are reserved for some students and the admissions are based only on the extra money donated to colleges and not on the CET, AIEEE or other rankings. All the colleges providing such seats are self-financed. Institutions/colleges charge more fees for management quota seats and it may differ from one college to another depending upon the rankings, resources, and facilities they provide.     Actually speaking, not all top B-Schools have management quota.
    The most sought after IIMs, do not have management quota. Even the Indian School of Business doesn't have management quota.
    But sadly many private and local government colleges do offer that. Some of the top colleges that accept people through management quota are:
    SP Jain Institute of management and research,
    NMIMS. NITIE, JBIMS etc.
    The answer is simple, they literally sell the seats.
    They do it for extra funding. For some colleges, they actually need this money to maintain or expand their campus, for some they just want it for themselves.
