Civil engineering is growing in India now due to new infrastructures due to which Chandigarh university is providing the best possibilities to r grasp that opportunities such as follows: A batch consists of around 70 students out of which approximately 30 to 40 students got placed. For our aerospace department, two floors are allotted with classrooms and labs. There are different types of labs like aerodynamics (wind tunnel and water tunnel) and aircraft structure (wing structure components). Aircraft propulsion lab (which is non-operational, but the JET engine is available) and instrument and system lab (aircraft hangar outside the building with Cessna aircraft) are also available. Our university library has books related to our department, but students should get permission from professors to access most of the reference books. The hostel complex is pretty huge with tuck shops, mess, restaurant, and all things inside it. LAN ports are provided in every hostel room so that students can use the Wi-Fi facility. There are medical dispensary and sports facilities on our university premises.

Well, that's partially true. There can be many reasons for this. Will start from past, civil engineering once used to be the most wanted course in India the reason was a great demand for laborers including engineering to the built infrastructure. Nowadays most of the projects are outsourced from foreign companies and their labor and engineering are also outsourced. But I believe civil engineering can have a great future especially after, the Skilled India project, make in India project. My suggestion is that choosing civil engineering or computer engineering could have a good future. Chandigarh University is also providing these courses it's a good university. It is a wrong myth created by students. There are many students who choose Civil engineering. As of now the companies only prefer to choose the most skilled engineer so they prefer hiring from top colleges from India. So we cant say that the scope is reduced. If u have interset u should really opt for it.

Hello Sukhminder Singh, yes, you are right. These days civil appears to be the last choice of students. This could be because of the record of placements being poor. Or perceptions of students etc. My opinion is that this is an evergreen branch that will last forever. Best wishes to you.
