    Hi Jaid,
    In some modern classification hydrogen is an sui generis (I.e. of its own type) element and does not fit in any of the other classification types. In fact, hydrogen does not lose any electron in the scope of the Chemistry, since the energies to promote its ionization are forbidden in chemical terms and as long as one proton became free of its electron, quickly it attaches itself to a molecule or atom (in this case, to catch another electron) in order to be electrically neutral again.
