Why is IIT better than a private college?

IITS are better then private and other engineering colleges because: (a) The IITs receive comparatively higher grants than other engineering colleges in India. While the total government funding to most other engineering colleges is around Rs. 1020 crores per year, the amount varies between Rs. 90 crores 130 crores per year for each IIT. (b)IITs have the best Infrastructure, academic environment and faculty. (c)The various IITs function autonomously, and their special status as Institutes of National Importance facilitates the smooth running of IITs, virtually free from both regional as well as student politics. (d) IITs can create their own curricula and adapt rapidly to the changes in educational requirements, free from bureaucratic hurdles. (e)The government has no direct control over internal policy decisions of IITs (like faculty recruitment and curricula) but has representation on the IIT Council. (f)JEE is toughest examination in world to crack. Therefore, IITs gets best student talent (g)Legacy IITs have very big alumni network which help in creating a brand image for institutes. (h)Near guaranteed top jobs for IIT undergraduates.
