Vivekananda Institute of Technology Jaipur aims to produce quality professionals in Mechanical Engineering to compete globally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging areas by forging strong industry - institute cooperation. The department has well-equipped labs which are regularly upgraded and modernized with the latest equipment and software for CAD, CAM and other areas. These labs facilitate hands-on experience on an Automobile engine. The student has to work on various activities like dismantling overhauling and assembling of an engine which is the example of the way in which education is imparted to the students. Vivekananda conjurers is VITs official Baja Racing team of Mechanical Engineering Students which participates in various Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Events. It has an SAE Collegiate Club comprising of 50+ students from all four years who volunteered their time and talents to conceive the design and build small scale All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV ) for SAE events with the help of Faculty Members. The Department has been able to attract numerous prestigious research and infrastructural grants in recent years from agencies such as AICTE, DRDO, DST, UGC. Vivekananda Institute of Technology Jaipur is the college where mechanical engineering students participate in prestigious SAE BAJA event. It is the institute where students manufactured a portable unit to sanitize students and staff in the wake of COVID 19 even before lockdown. The students of the department manufactured an Aloe Vera peeling machine and later trained nearby farmers to use it. It is the best college as all the faculty members in the department are alumni of IITs and NITs.
