Why LPU is not AICTE approved?

Hello mate. There is actually no need to be approved by AICTE since Lovely Professional University is already recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. LPU provides great academic exposure to its students. It is a UGC-approved university that has been ranked well by various agencies on the basis of its infrastructure, its faculty, its placements, its teaching practices, etc. The university provides ample opportunities to each and every eligible student to secure a good placement. Special inputs in the form of professional enhancement classes are given to students to better their skills and prepare them for placements. LPU has various rankings and accreditation. Kindly note if any University is approved by UGC, is a UGC approved deemed to be a University, is a UGC approved self-financed State University, or a UGC approved State Private University, is exempted from approval of AICTE. It is not important for any of the above universities to take Accreditation of AICTE. Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases. FYI, If any college is already approved by UGC, then the approval from AICTE is not necessary. AICTE is simply a part of UGC. LPU provides a great academic exposure to its students.

As per the Supreme Court ruling only technical institutions need to be approved by AICTE, however for the universities it is not mandatory. LPU is a full fledged independent university approved by UGC. In addition to it, LPU is also affiliated with the Distance Education Council. LPU is also affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). LPU was the first university to get an approval from ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). LPU has ACBSP accreditation as well as holds an affiliation with Bar Council of India (BCI). __________.
