Why M.Phil. got discontinued?

<p>M.Phil. is a post-graduate research programme which was designed as training course for PhD degree as a bridge between master's course and PhD.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>In 2022, the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India announced that the M.Phil. course degree is no longer valid and was discontinued as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.</strong></p><p>M.Phil. course was discontinued in 2020 because it was a very long course which was followed by PhD and took a lot of canddate's years. Students often changed college preference and supervisors in MPhil and PhD in Philosophy which presented dicontinuity and useless learning. There were many other learning related factors which indicated that it was of no use and should be discontinued for the better.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
