Why should I leave low end NIT's and join Thapar institute, if I get, BE mechanical starting from 2017?

    Thapar has the legacy of 61 years and it is any day better than the upcoming NITs. Thapar has a well-established curriculum plus they mainly focus on practical learning by providing projects to their students. Moreover, the students undergo rigorous training after their 3 year. The UG program in mechanical is ABET accredited and is specially designed to build a strong base in traditional mechanical engineering. With mechanical engineering, they focus on production designing, manufacturing setups and could implement policies own their own.     Hi Jwalant,
    Thapar has always been renowned for mechanical engineering specifically until computer sciences grabbed the top spot certainly due to high market demands, but BE in mechanical engineering from Thapar is still ranked above many of the top level NITs. After all what matters is a decent placement and Thapar University will get you one. However, a few changes in the system have been implemented recently due to TU's collaboration with Trinity College, Dublin which is expected to further improve the quality of education.

    Thapar University is one of the best and reputed private universities of India. Lower NIT's are still waiting for proper establishment. You will explore a lot there. Well established university with world class facilities. Go for it without a single thought if the fee is not an issue.
