Why they asking from shortlisted students to submitted the academic marksheets, certificates and non academic achievements?

They seem to follow a procedure of asking applicants to submit their marksheets. There are chances they scan for your profile before giving you an interview but this cannot be verified. But if you have scored exceptionally well in XAT and cleared all sectional cutoffs, then you will surely get the call.

This is done to crosscheck the details to avoid any misinterpretations in the future. Also, this helps the institute to verify your marks and work experience to award marks during the final score calculation after GDPI. XLRI never takes the original certificates, xerox copies should suffice at this period of the admissions.
