Will a course in VFX get me a job if I want to start my career in film making?

There is scope in every field. One must keep in mind to choose the course which matches his or her interest, skills and long term career goal. Below are the scope and salary details of your desired course : Animation is a booming industry with wide job openings and you can work on full length animation movies or any other related fields such as television, advertising industry, etc. Some of the jobs offered in the industry are : Content developerModelerStory Broad Artist Character animator Background artist Layout artist 2D animator CompositorEditor Regarding salary, always remember, it depends on various parameters such as size of the organisation, profile, qualification, experience, etc. But, still, to give you a brief idea, Junior animator or trainee : earn between Rs.10000 - 15000 per month. With three to five years experience : earn between Rs. 25000 to 40000. Well-experienced animator with good portfolio : earn between Rs. 50000 - 60000 per month.

Film making is taught in some of the programs offered for VFX. Film making is included in VFX programs majorly to establish thorough understanding the of cinematography, Camera angles which eventually helps in creating good quality VFX. If your focus is, getting in to big screen movie making then alone a VFX course may not suffice. Having said you can certainly walk towards your dream career starting with a VFX program. Design Animation or B Design Film and TV Production in which VFX is the major part of curriculum and you will be learning all the major animation and film making tools. With this you need to make sure you choose a right academic partner.
