Will a student get suspended from college if he misses too many classes in B.Tech?

All the colleges have a rule that your attendance in not much lower than 75% but if you missed the class then try to contact to your teacher and give the reason why you missed the class. If the reason is genuine then there is no problem but if not then you may have to pay fine for it.
