Will aeronautical engineering having value in upcoming years?

Aeronautical Engineering was popular once, but it's value has diminished now in favor of Core Branches. The trend seems to remain same in the upcoming years. Althoug, there is short but constant demand of such graduates in firms like HAL. But, the seats are very limited and hence more competition.
