Will IIM Aspirants prefer Cheaper IIMs over the More Expensive Ones ?
With the high inflation in the economy IIMs has decided to increase the tuition fee for the third time. IIMs are also trying to raise funds by other means to manage its expenses. It is also possible that IIMs may hike its placement fees this year.
Do you think it will bring any change in the prior

Although, I agree with what Priya and few of the other people are saying the IIMs aspirants always look at quality and so the fee hike would not effect them much but at the same time I also feel that there are students who are nor from so well to do family and still aspire for IIMs what about them h

i think fee hike doesnt make any difference for aspirants as education loans are easily available for such a prominent institute and no one hesitate to take even a higher loan while they know about the placement surety in the iim with higher pay scales.

when it comes to IIM only one thing comes in mind top quality of world class level management education in India. No matter how costly the course becomes if the student has made up his mind to study at IIM and get placement from there then money is not a constraint. But IIM should also keep one thin

Thanks @Aneeket for inviting me.....
According to my point of view, like every other Institute in India is increasing their fees due some or the other reason, so IIMs are not the exceptions for that.
Surely while taking the admission first and the most important thing comes is the reputation of t

Yes. Economics is always important. All IIMS have similar syllabus and facilities. There may be mariginal differences, but ignorable.

Well going through the above comments by our experts, it seems that a fee hike would not restrict students to get into the IIMs. Also, what I think is that if a student is getting through to the IIMs then he can get bank loans easily as no bank (to thebest of my knowledge) would say a NO to an IIM a

Education loan offered by various banks, helps many students to arrange the funds for their education.

@||anjani jha|| very good point made sir, fees would definitely be the criteria for the students who can make it to IIMs, but do not have enough funds to finance their education.

Price hike is a bad news but then on the sane page, the institute has decided to offer waivers to the students coming from weaker financial backgrounds. And is very true that 90% of the IIM candidature in any running batch, are financing their studies through loans.

The aim of every MBA aspirant is to get admission in IIMs, because of the ROI associated with it, the IIMs have very good placements records both nationally and internationally, so even if the cost of education in IIMs is higher, it can be easily recovered within few years after graduating from IIMs

In my opinion price would certainly not be the criteria for IIM aspirants, their main aim is to get admission in the best IIM, I would request @||anjani jha|| to share their valuable opinion on this.

Good discussion,
I too feel the same as other experts,
IIM are best place in India to get MBA, and students (consumers) knows its worth, an increase in hike may sadden middle-class, lower middle-class students because they need to get larger educational loans but then too it won't be much of concer

Well, IIMs have a special brand value attached to them. Majority of the candidates wouldn't mind that, but then there are also some middle class families, who surely wants their wards to get into IIMs but not at a further higher cost.

IIM aspirants will always choose to study in a Higher quality learning environment rather than choosing fees as a parameter to study in particular IIM.
Students will look at parameters like
The course curriculum and the study material, infrastructure, whether there is faculty or online support or

I really don't think so as far the priorities of any MBA aspirant is concerned, specially one who is keen to get in to one of the best IIMs. Price hike definitely does not much in comparison to the quality of education that is been offered by such premier institutes.
