Will it be a good option to pursue Actuarial Studies with 8 yrs of Software Engineering experience?
Sir,
I am a software engineer with 8 years of experience. I would like to go for Actuarial Studies, could you please provide more details on this study. Is it the right opinion to go for these studies with this experience? I have knowledge in Maths, Stat, Accounts, Economics, Insurance, Computers.

Actuarial Science as Masters Degree MSc. in southampton university and also in Heriotwatt University (www.hw.ac.uk). You need an IELTS score of 6.5 band. This is a very good course and becasue of your expereince you will be having a clear edge over others.

You seem to have a good background and keen interest for this field. Do just check the entry procedure for the industry and if the same suits you. I mean if you need to start as a fresher, are you ok with it? or does the industry give some weightage to your previous experience.
