Will it be a problem if I pursue mechanical engineering as I am weak in maths? How can I overcome this problem?
My physics, on the other hand, is strong.

If you want, you can go. But you'll face some prob. Isntead, you can do BSs in Physics. And then MSc in the same. MSc from a good college will give you a good job. Goodluck !!
