Will it have any effect on my campus placement if I drop a year for IIT preparation?
I have passed 12th and want to drop an year for the preparation of IIT JEE and BITSAT.

No, it will not provided you have good grades in your graduation and sound technical knowledge. Gap of 1 year between 12th and engineering is not an issue but gap in between your graduation will definitely effect your placements

There will be no effect on your placement but at least you will do much hard work to get next year and achieve better rank than this year.
