Yes, job experience is required in most cases for IIMS. Your degree can be any though. But, being a B.Tech will be much beneficial in terms of prospects and growth.

Nowadays, most IIMS are looking for people with work experience rather than freshers, but if you can be a 100 percentile in CAT, then well miracles do happen. I have a friend who is currently studying at IIM B presently. This is his profile X - 98 XII - 98 B.Tech (same dept as you) from IIT Kharagpu
