  • No. Marks are not deducted for unanswered questions in NEET PG. A total of 200 multiple choice questions are asked in NEET PG exam. For every incorrect answer, -1 mark is deducted in the exam. NEET PG 2025 may or may not be held as it will be replaced by NExT.

No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions as per existing NEET PG pattern. Such questions will not be taken into account while calculating marks. Students are advised to attempt only those questions where they are confident of right answer. If there is iota of doubt of correct answer, candidates are advised to leave that question.

MCC reduces NEET PG cutoff to fill vacant seats remain after starting two rounds. It is being said students who score top rank wish to get top branches and colleges and they do get usually in round-1 and round-2 NEET PG counselling. Once these coveted seats get filled, students have least chance to get them in remaining rounds. That is reason cutoff is reduced to encourage and make more students elligible for NEET PG counselling.

There is a chance MCC may reduce NEET PG 2025 cutoff by 15 percentile. Though counselling body has not clarified what percentile will be reduced, experts believe it will be same like last time. In 2024 cutoff was reduced by 15 percentile for general category while for SC/ST, it was reduced by 10 percentile.
