Will my backlogs affect my chances of getting Canada's visa?
I completed my mechanical engineering in 2016 with 7.6 CGPI & have 5 backlogs in total in the 4th semester which have been cleared on the 1st attempt. I have 6.5 (no less than 6) in IELTS & 301 in GRE. Can I get visa under SPP category or for Master degree?

Backlogs do affect however if your overall profile is strong you can be considered. Applying to a non-SPP category will be competitive as most universities require at least 75%, you can still write to the universities and check. A well-written statement of purpose, strong reference letters from your teachers will also have an impact on your application. Check requirements and shortlist your colleges carefully.

Hi. However, if your entire profile is strong, you can still be evaluated despite backlogs. It will be difficult to apply to a non-SPP category because most institutions want at least a 60% average; you can still write to the universities to confirm. Strong reference letters from your professors and a well-written statement of purpose will both influence the review of your application. Check the requirements before carefully shortlisting your colleges.
