At Middle Tennessee State University, 24% of the students live in college-owned, operated, or affiliated housing and 76% of students live off campus. The university offers on-campus housing, but freshmen are not required to take advantage of it. Also, most do choose to live in the dorms. The campus provides opportunities for growth, development, and learning outside of the classroom. The student body is diverse in race, ethnicity, and cultural background, with 68% of students saying so.
