Living on campus makes it easier to interact with the student community due to close proximity to academic buildings there is active social scene. However, living off campus gives students greater freedom, seclusion, and possibly even more room, so that they can tailor their accomodation keeping them apart from the academic institutions. With communal living areas and kitchens, off-campus housing may also provide a cozier atmosphere.
