Will pursuing a distance graduation impact my chances of admission in a top B-School?

Pursuing graduation from distance course would not impact your chances of admission in a top B-school. You have to just be careful while doing a distance course that it is very well recognized by respective authorities like AICTE, UGC, NAAC, etc. so that you become eligible for entrance into top B-schools. You could be asked questions about your choice for distant course over regular course, so you should be well prepared for that. Candidates get selected in B-schools on their overall profile. So prepare and focus well on your management entrance exams after getting assured about the above points. You could opt for self-preparation strategy or coaching strategy or do both self-preparation as well as coaching depending on your own schedule. Prepare smartly and be thorough with news of the past year.

Getting admission in top B-schools is a matter of CAT score not Bachelor’s Degree score so if you're trying to get in admission in top B-schools try to get as much as higher marks in your CAT exams rather than graduation. As much as the distance education matters it will not affect in your Masters so if still I would suggest you to pursue any graduation degree on the regular basis so that you can get more experience of real education rather than the online or distance.

No, pursuing a distance graduation won't impact your chance of getting admission in top B-schools as many colleges accept candidates with distance graduation but one need to prove themselves. it in much more better way than that of a candidate with regular degree. A student must first decide in what trade they want to build their career. There are many friends of mine who have completed their graduation from distance and completed their MBA from reputed colleges are currently working in a multinational company and are doing very well. So, it doesn't mean that if you are a distance graduation student won't get a better job. If a candidate is hardworking and focused then he/she can get a better job. According to me, pursuing distance graduation won't impact chances of admission in a top B-schools.

Distance graduation won't affect your admission into a top B-School. Most of the colleges do accept them as long as the degree is from a proper reliable institute or board. However, some colleges might specify that they won't accept distance graduation. You just have to know about such colleges.

It won’t affect your chances to get into in B-school as generally the requirement is you should have a legitimate degree. Unless any B-school specifies this they accept only regular candidates, it’s not an issue. And that time you should have a valid answer for that. Candidates get selected in B-school on the basis of their past records in studies, skills and ability.

The criteria for the candidate to get admission in MBA college is that the candidate has to be a graduate in any discipline from any recognized university or equivalent degree or 10+2+3 years degree from any recognized university. 50% aggregate marks for general category and 45% for reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) students. Hi, Distance graduation will not impact your chances for MBA admission. Most of the B-school just make sure that you have completed your graduation, I.e, 10+2+(3 or 4). Once you have this basic requirement, they would look at your management competitive exam score. Every college has it's own eligibility criteria. Usually there are other selection rounds such as group discussion, verbal testing and personal interview. You need to get through this in order to get selected for the MBA course. However in certain cases, you might face troubles during your placements season in MBA colleges as some companies would prefer a regular graduation degree to the distance graduation degree. Therefore, please look into the MBA colleges you would like to apply to after your graduation and take an informed decision.

It won't affect your chances in general. The only criteria is that you should have a legitimate degree. But of course you will be asked about it in your interview for admission. You just have to tell your reasons, if they don't find anything wrong with it then you are good to go. Just make sure you get good grades in your graduation too as these marks will also be used for calculating your final score. So as long as you have a legitimate degree and have above 50% (it is the eligibility criteria) in your graduation then you would have no problem. Just make sure that the place you are pursuing your degree is properly accredited.

No, actually if you have pursued your graduation via distance mode then you will surely get admission in a B-School. There are no restrictions on which mode you have pursued, its just there are some institutes which prefer regular mode candidates over the distance mode but surely you can apply to get admission in the institution. To get admission in a top B-School, you will have to take CAT, XAT, NMAT, MAT, or respective state entrance exam like Maharashtra-CET. So, if you get a qualifying score in the exam and you have a cut-off percentage in the graduation and higher secondary level, you will surely get a call for GDPI and other admission processes for the institution. So, it wholly depends on you how much you can score and how much you can achieve to get admission into a good B-School. I hope this helps the aspirant to take a decision. All the best!
