Will this switching of courses and a year gap affect my career? I want to do regular B.Ed after doing my graduation.

I did my 12th (science) in 2013 and then I did Diploma in civil engineering in 2016. After that I took admission in IGNOU in 2017 for BA in sociology.

Hello, There is no issue in one year gap in your study. You just have to submit a gap year certificate and can do regular B.Ed from any university. Good luck.
