With a 73.6 percentile in JEE Main as an OBC-NCL candidate, admission to NIT Surathkal is highly unlikely for any B.Tech branch. This percentile corresponds to a rank around 40,000–45,000, while the closing ranks for OBC-NCL at NIT Surathkal in 2025 ranged only between around 296 to 9,900, depending on the branch and state quota

    For example:

    • Computer Science Engineering (OS quota) closed around rank 568

    • Mechanical Engineering (OS) closed near 4,460

    • Civil Engineering (OS) cutoff was about 7,363
