    Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University is a public university, established in 2000. It is a 'University of National Importance' and offers various UG, PG, and PhD programmes.  It is also one of the largest technical universities in India. The increased seat intake at the university is advantageous for students, as with an increased intake more students could pursue various programmes from a public university at a reasonable fee.
