With the whole educational scenario changing in India, is there anything better I could do apart from a B.Ed to build a teaching career?

    It is my advice to you that along with B.Ed from regular mode, do pursue for Masters from distance mode and this will give you dual benefits of B.Ed and Masters.

    Hello,
    B.Ed is a Bachelor's degree which can land you a job in private and government schools. Teaching isn't limited to schools only. We need skilled professors and lecturers for higher education in universities.
    I would suggest you to appear for UGC NET (for arts and humanity) or CSIR NET (for science stream). Apart from these two, you can become an assistant professor in technical universities by cracking GATE exam.
    Benefits of being a lecturer:
    Higher package-Govt. lecturers earn 85k+ (depending on experience and place of posting).
    Social status and respect.
    You can switch your career towards research in your subject.
