It is not a pre-requisite to do an MBA to get a job in HR. However no doubt it gives you an edge over other candidates. You can apply to various HR jobs which mostly ask only for a basic graduation.
Besides you could also get an MBA in distance learning or part time with HR specialization to improv

Well, there some other degrees for Ex. MPM & PGDBM which are equivalent to MBA and can make you specialize in HR.........
