Himani, Smart way is to prepare for your UPSC Exams and simultaneously prepare for a PG in your Relevant Area. Though it'll not have an impact, it'll take you up at finalization rounds.

    Hi Himani,
As Civil Service Examination are tough nut to crack it definitely requires focused studies, and the time consumed in preparation would vary from person to person as every individual has his own level of capabilities and grasping power. Although, you can start preparing from the third year of your graduation itself but if you feel that you would require a year to prepare for the Exam and given a year you will be able to crack it well then there is no harm in investing this time. However, your PG would not affect your entry to civil services in any way.
