An M.Sc-IT degree completed in 2012 from Punjab Technical University Distance Education valid? Which government body approved it?

I have done the degree of PTU from Kolkata. I am employed in a college at Kolkata as Technical Assistant and regarding my promotion college authority raised two questions about the degree, Q1. PTU Violated its jurisdiction rule & Q2. Which Govt. Body approved the degree. Please clarify it.

Now, what was the status in 2012? I can't say. You have to contact your institute and UGC both. AICTE approves technical courses. Regards.
