6 years agoHi,
BE in CSE at BIT MESRA would be my anytime choice over VIT. BIT MESRA is a GFTI, whereas VIT is just another private institute which is just over hyped. Also, an average placement package at BIT MESRA is INR. 6-7 lacs which is good enough. Truly speaking one should go for BIT MESRA. Hope it helps.
Thanks. -
I think I will recommend VIT. The faculty members and course curriculum there are great. BIT-Mesra is good too and the crowd there is great. It comes down to which location you prefer. If you want to go to a place with a better education then go for VIT. If you want to go to a place with a satisfactory education and a great crowd then choose BIT.

BIT has a better alum network, better placement records (avg salaries, diversity of companies), better recognition in the US (applicable if interested in higher studies in the US), better programming community.
VIT has a more modern infrastructure and has done well in its 20+ years of existence. It is certainly one of the best colleges in the South, but I'd still give BIT the edge.
According to me, Birla Institute of Technology-Mesra is much better college then Vellore Institute of Technology University.
Placement in both of the colleges are different and can be seen with facts below

BIT-Mesra is better overall. We can compare them on the following parameters:
Brand recognition: BIT is an older college with a rich legacy and has carved a niche for itself in the industry.
Fee structure- BIT-Mesra is cheaper than VIT even though both are private institutions
Placement: Both the colleges have a dedicated placement cell and are able to invite several top companies every year. The average CTC at BIT for 2016-17 batch was around 6.5 LPA and the highest was 26 LPA. Most of the average students send up with a CTC around 6 LPA. Whereas, in VIT if you are an average student or maybe a little below average you will end up with o...more -
Birla Institute of Technology is the top private college in India and no other private college is even close to giving competition to this college. The college manages to overthrow this competitive VIT University in almost every subject you can probably think of BE at the college reputation, placements, faculty, training and placement cell.
I'll just point out a few advantages but you would get them if you get admission at BITS-Mesra over VIT University.
The acceptance rate at Birla Institute of Technology-Mesra is really low (that for computer science branch being even lower) because of which only beautiful minds get to study at the col...more -

8 years agoBoth the colleges are good for computer science engineering. VIT University, Vellore, Chennai is good but most of the students placed here are hired by mass recruiters. Recently, VIT University has ranked 13th among all private and government engineering colleges by the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Birla Institute of Technology always shines in top 20. Birla Institute of Technology-
Mesra is an old and reputed private engineering college of North India.
