If we talk about 2021 admissions, cutoff for CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) was above 98% but cutoff for COE (Computer Engineering) was above 96%. COE is almost equivalent to CSE with some of the subjects being different and it is the Flagship Branch of Thapar. At the time of placements CSE and COE have equal opportunities so I suggest if you are getting COE you should go for it.

No, you can not get admission on the basis of qualifying exam marks. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology admission 2022 is both entrance and merit-based. The institute will admit candidates to its B.Tech programme on the basis of JEE Main 2022 scores. Examination for the current year is scheduled in two sessions, i.e. , June 20-29 and July 21-30. In addition to the JEE Main 2022 exam, interested candidates are also required to apply for admission on the official website.
