Jitender, you can pursue B.Sc Agri. subject to fulfilling the eligibility which is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English, Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology or Forestry) OR 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) OR 2 yrs. Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent, subject to valid score in LPUNEST- 2017. Or In case marks scored in 10+2 are 70% or above, then LPUNEST-2017 will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission. ICAR approval is under process. It is a govt. process and concerned body will take their own time however we have initiated process after successful pass out of first batch B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture (in May 2015) as per ICAR guidelines.Furthermore, ICAR is an accreditation body not a regulatory body as in case of MBBS (Medical council of India) and B.V.Sc.(Veterinary council of India) which accredit our program and advise changes (if any needed) to run the program whereas no permission is required from ICAR for such programs.At the same time, number of students from first batch have qualified for JRF test (conducted by ICAR) and cleared with merit positions. Thereby availing ICAR awarded scholarship for doing M.Sc. in various branches of Agriculture namely Plant breeding, Vegetable sci., Entomology, Agricultural statistics etc. in top agricultural universities by Govt. of India. Hi, Agriculture is a primary source of livelihood for the majority of Indians. Thus, generally, it remains the last priority among students choosing a career option. Which is a very wrong assumption. Agricultural graduates have a wide scope of career in public sector and private sector. In fact entrepreneurship is a great opportunity to pursue your prospective career in agricultural field. It is just a myth that Agriculture does not offer job opportunities. Lovely Professional University is the first private University who has got and accreditation from ICAR. Curriculum here is as per the guidelines of ICAR (Indian Council of Agriculture Research) and is designed to train students to understand ways of improving the crop production in a sustainable manner and to provide overall knowledge related to agriculture. Hi, Yes, LPU has ICAR accreditation. You can pursue B.Sc. (Hons) agriculture from Lovely Professional University. LPU provides quality education to the students and University also provides additional placement oriented classes and students also studied subjects like analytical skills, soft skills, etc. As part of the curriculum to prepare the students for all types of competitive exams as well. I would like to name a few companies that visit LPU- Nestle, VLCC Health Care, HDFC, Rallis India, SYNGENTA INDIA LTD, WIPRO LIMITED, and many other firms. Being an alumni of LPU I would rather say that the school of Agriculture in Lovely Professional University is among the best place for pursuing the B.Sc. In agriculture. Eligibility for admission in this course is as follows (a) 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) or (b) 10+2 or Intermediate (Agriculture) or (c) 2 years Diploma in Agriculture after 10th or equivalent *Condition of English as a subject may be waived off provided the candidate has studied in English medium.
