Dear Vaibhavi, Being alumni of LPU, I can answer this, My friend did B.Tech in Mechanical at LPU. Understanding the fact that Mechanical engineering is known as a difficult subject among students but provides great career opportunities. It applies the materials Science principle, engineering, Physics and engineering mathematics to design, study, fabricate and maintain mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering is indeed one of the oldest engineering disciplines. LPU ensures that an immense amount of project development can be provided to the Mechanical Engineering student. LPU is one of the best colleges for studying Mechanical engineering and other fields. The college equally focuses on all the areas, students and their placement. Being an alumni I would like to capture your attention on the mechanical labs at LPU. The Advance Machine Shop provide knowledge regarding various machining operations like die making, Pattern making, Programing and Cutting tools on/using for VMC and turning ect. Computer Aided Manufacturing Laboratory also helps the students will learn to develop part geometry & develop. Iterate, simulate and finalize the form and function. Automobile Eng. Lab provide knowledge about various systems of automobile, like suspension, differential, steering assembly, various types of braking systems, engine internal cut out set. IC Engine lab provide knowledge to students about the working, testing and practical analysis of Internal combustion engines including Mores test and performance of reciprocating compressor.

There are labs across all the courses offered in LPU as Mechanical Engineering colleges in Punjab, India equipped with 40+ labs and modern machining to provide an extra edge to the existing curriculum which focuses on developing a strong basic knowledge. Unilab, the mechanical testing lab of LPU established under the School of Civil Engineering has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The labs are Advance machine shop, NONTRADITIONAL AND COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING LABORATORY, Automobile engineering Lab, IC Engine Lab, Mechanical Measurement and Metrology, Strength of Material Lab, Theory Of Machines/Dynamic Of Machines Lab, Thermal/Heat Transfer Lab, FINITE ELEMENT METHODS LABORATORY, ENGINEERING GRAPHICS LABORATORY, OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING LABORATORY, COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN AND ANALYSIS LABORATORY, BASIC SIMULATION LABORATORY, Propulsion Lab, Aerodynamics Lab, Welding Shop, Pattern Making Shop, Foundry shop, ADVANCED DESIGN LABORATORY and ENGINEERING DRAWING LAB. One of my friend was enrolled in B.Tech Automobile as well. Few major point I will be sharing about LPU, I hope that helps. LPU is good for automobile engineering. Good placements in core company as well as software company. Other than participating different events like go kart, project expo, entertainment events like one India, one world etc. Practical based learning and valuable guest lectures also. LPU provides a lot of opportunities to each and every of the eligible students for good placement. LPU rated as 11th Best in India from Zee News Survey in Placements. They give you a very good amount of training before you go into campus placements. Try not to miss those classes they will help you in getting better placements, after all, all we need is a decent place with good exposure. I shouldn't even have to explain this one. Various major companies take part in recruitment at LPU every year, some as Volkswagon, Voltas, Anglo Eastern Ship Mgt. , Asahi India, Rockman (Hero group), Dharam Consulting, Samundra, Indo-MIM, Sandhar Technologies, JK Lakshmi Cement, Maruti, Lava, XL Dynamics, Asahi India, Cleanmax Solar, Elgi Equipments, etc. On an average, 200 MNCs visit our campus every year, placing around 2000 students every year. Packages vary from 7.9 LPA to 30lpa based on the individual skill. I know LPU and courses offered by LPU, mechanical engineering is also one of the best programme at LPU. They have good infrastructure and labs in this branch of engineering. Mechanical engineering is known as a difficult subject among students but it provides great career opportunities. It applies the materials Science principle, engineering, Physics and engineering mathematics to design, study, fabricate and maintain mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering is indeed one of the oldest engineering disciplines. However, students who want to have excellent education and placement support should choose the best college. Here I would like to share my own experience with LPU. You have to be highly driven and hard working to get admission to this course. LPU is one of the best colleges for studying Mechanical engineering and other fields. The college equally focuses on all the areas, students and their placement. I heard lots of good stuff about this college before joining it and I found them true when I became a part of LPU. The college has tie-ups with many renowned names in the industry and companies like TCS, Amdocs, Verizon, IBM, Google, Amazon, Capgemini, Microsoft and many other regularly visit to find skilled candidates for various job opportunities. You will get great exposure and huge academic support being a part of Lovely Professional University. Extracurricular activities, cultural events, project-based learning, training and internship, entrepreneurship, on job training, celebrity events, and other events are a regular part of LPU education. LPU has highly qualified and experienced teachers on board for providing quality education to students. The best thing I like about LPU is that every semester, the curriculum is updated. Majority of the unique projects &amp; products have been designed by the Mechanical Department whether it be designing and making the E RICKSHAW by scrapes or manufacturing their original GO KARTS. To support the inventions LPU provides magnificent lab infrastructure equipped with a drilling machine consisting of a drill chuck, a floating head with a tool holder attached to the chuck, a guide 5 fixed to the pillar of the machine to guide the tool to cut a desired profile and a work-piece holder having a work piece and attached to the base of the machine. The design suggests a compact, robust, and semi-automatic guided gearless mechanism consisting of indigenous rotary and revolving (in a range of 30 to 150) mechanisms to facilitate the movement of drill bit around a curved path.
