How is the mess food facility in LPU?

It would be a good choice to opt for Lovely Professional University as in the present scenario this is the university which caters to the all-round development of its students and nurtures it with care to boost the career to a pinnacle of ultimate success which might be the envy of many. I am in a better position to answer your question. First of all, my experience at LPU has been phenomenal. Honestly I won't lie about the mess at campus, because I myself took food for the first 6 months at the hostel mess until I explored other good places but there are so many people who actually like mess. If your one of them very good and if not then fab your in my gang so, you don't have to worry at all for the food at LPU because there are like 358+ shops inside the campus providing all varieties of food from continental to south Indian and that too at very mediocre rates. Some days if you don't feel like going out you can even order at Dominoes, go to CCD, Mall, etc. Food is not at all a problem at LPU. More than 20000 students reside in the on-campus hostel and nearly ,15000 avail food service. All the hostel have their own mess facilities. What you get is a planned diet, with salads, protein, vitamins, lentils, etc. No stale food, like the one which you might get in a restaurant, stalls, etc. Every meal is freshly prepared for a hot meal. The food inspector which tends to raid the hostel mess, ensures the workers to provide the optimum hygiene and quality use of products. One after the tiresome day can have a hot meal in a timely manner. Sometimes during some festive day like Diwali, Holi, they surprise you with some different meals and believe me food was really awesome. You are getting unlimited hot Breakfast/Lunch/Snacks and Dinner. Oh my, where will you get that otherwise? It will be light on your pocket as well. To tingle your taste buds, you can always skip meals and eat outside for a change. Hope the information is informative.

All the mess inside the campus are providing same food menu. It's GOOD, it's not Home wala GOOD but GOOD ! The students are now also given to opt for Basic Food menu which will have limited items with fixed quantity for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner only (No tea with snacks will be available in Basic food menu). The students have a choice of North Indian food in both Standard menu and Basic menu. The best thing to do is firstly opting for mess. Because eating a healthy balanced diet is important part of maintaining good health, and help you feel great. And LPU totally focuses on students diet as per nutrients needed. In order to provide students with more flexibility and increased choice of food varieties, the university is providing more options to the students in selecting the mess, flexible food options etc. Understanding individuals appetite, palate and food preferences LPU designs various options of food for the children. The details of various options being provided to the students are: Choice of Menu Option A: Standard menu The standard food menu is the same existing option being provided for breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea with snack with unlimited quantity for most of the items. Option B: Basic Menu The students are now also given to opt for Basic Food menu which will have limited items with fixed quantity for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner only (No tea with snacks will be available in Basic food menu). Choice of food (North Indian food or South Indian food) Option A: North Indian food The students have a choice of North Indian food in both Standard menu and Basic menu. Option B: Regional (South Indian) food The students have a choice of Regional (South Indian) Food in Standard menu and Basic menu. Recently LPU allowed non-veg food to their students. They have tie-up with a food factory and opened a non-veg. Food store near BH 4 ground. Students can go and eat non-veg food. Apart from that, they have a lot of options. Available for non-veg food at law GATE or near the main GATE also. But if we talk about veg food students have n- number of options available inside the university also. LPU's non-veg mess facility is totally managed by an external vendor. The mess fee is also directly paid to an external vendor. One of my South Indian friends adopted for the same mess as they are fond of non-veg food, he told me that the fee was around 27,500/- per semester for non-veg food.

The mess menu changes every semester or if suggestions are given. Although mostly it remains the same. Breakfast: parathas variety like Allu partha, gobi paratha, plain paratha, tea, sabji with partha, Poha, Puri sabji, etc. Is the common breakfast. Lunch: It has a wide range but few things remain of course we Indian eat almost every day Rice/ steam rice/ flavoured rice, Dal/ Rajma/Dal makhna/Kadhi/moong dal/chana dal/chole, chapati, sweet, salad If the sweet is over you will get a banana. There is a canteen option also if you are tired of the monotonous menu. You can also go outside the hostel in the campus area. There are plenty of stalls in the campus area for food. Most students prefer food in the stall area. You will find the food stalls outside every hostel. The best part is that LPU maintains the quality of food. They inspect the stalls on a regular basis. There is only VEGETARIAN food available inside the campus. If you wish to eat NON-VEG then you can go outside the campus and eat. REMEMBER you are not allowed to bring NON-VEG inside the campus. The guards at the entrance will check your packets. The stalls outside are mostly nonveg. You can also have northeast food there. People from Africa can also get their country dish at the Campus cafe stall area. Lots of food options here.

The residential facility at LPU is very authentic and genuine. It offers the best residential facilities like 24*7 power supply, Gym, Laundry, Mess, Wi-Fi, etc. With value for money. All residential facilities have dining halls that provide good quality and hygienic food four times a day. Over 1 Lacs meals are prepared each day! I have spent my years at LPU and opted for mess throughout. I must appreciate that LPU takes utmost care of the health and hygiene of students. Food is prepared as per the menu decided by the university. Every meal has a minimum of 4 to 5 items and sometimes even more. The menu is decided considering the healthy and balanced diet of students. Food is tasty and has a complete blend of all the essential nutrients required by the human body. There is a 4-time meal served throughout the day starting from Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Dinner. The special menu is also prepared on festive occasions. University also provides the option to choose between Standard Mess and South Indian Mess. The standard mess has a mix of menus from North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and Italian Cuisines. Also, the university keeps a regular check on the quality of food served to the students. There is a surprise visit and checking being done by food inspectors allocated by LPU in the mess. For a student, you get the perfect meal throughout from a glass of milk or tea accompanied with some Paratha or Poha or Idli or Sambar and sometimes even Sprouts. Lunch has a Curry, Rice Chapati, Salad, Curd or Raita, and even fruit sometimes. Evening snacks are some starters with Tea or Coffee Dinner is a perfect main course meal with 2 or 3 curries, Rice, Chapati, Salad, sweet, and much more. There is a different menu for different days so that you don't get bored eating all the same stuff. You will get to eat all the healthy green vegetables to spicy and piquant dishes. LPU is a vegetarian university and has a wide range of vegetarian mess available in the hostel. The hostel has North Indian, South Indian, Rajasthan and many other Regional messes. A student can choose the food as per his or her taste. The quality of food is good. Parathas, Butter, Curd, Milk, Tea is served at breakfast. In lunch Dry Vegetables, Dal, any Gravy item, Rice, Chapati and Raita are served. The dinner comprises of Chapati, Seasonal Vegetables, Rice and Desserts. Keeping in mind the preference of a large number of students for non veg food, LPU has opened a Non- Veg food restaurant in collaboration with a vendor Food Factory where all non-veg foods can be enjoyed by all including eggs. This restaurant though operated under LPU has been located adjoining the LPU BH-4 Ground where an LPU guard is placed and opens till late in the night. While one can enjoy non-veg foods without leaving the university it is strictly not allowed to pack the food and bring with you inside the hostel. LPU comprises of diversity from all over the world, they try keeping the pace of variety and taste of food too accordingly. Hostel food is scheduled day by day and apart from it, LPU has roof canteens at each of its blocks and along with it. The food at kiosks has cuisines of Indian, Chinese, African, etc. Food items. LPU doesn't compromise on quality and variety. The food at all hubs is scrutinized frequently and they are highly penalized if hygiene is not maintained. Not only this, LPU mall has several franchises including Dominoes, CCD, with, etc. , and the even the means of delivery like Swiggy, such that students feel free to enjoy all facilities and feel like home. In LPU different variety of food are available due to the student diversity at LPU. The price range at the kiosks are also very nominal starts from 20 to 150 so, you can enjoy amazing good food at these kiosks. If you are a foodie, then you will enjoy the food available at the campus and also you can enjoy different cuisines.

Being an alumni of LPU, I believe I can answer your concern very well. LPU campus is so huge that you will easily find more that 400 kiosks within the campus from which you can have anything you want to eat. The hostel mess provides very tasty food. The food supervisor regularly conduct inspections in mess to ensure the hygiene and quality of food served to students. The have food menu specially customized for students belonging to different zones. There are too many options to choose from. Even if you want to skip a meal, then also you can pay less accordingly. LPU also has a non-veg mess ( third party vendor) so you can opt for the plans accordingly. If on some days you don't feel like having a meal in mess then you can go to UNIMALL which has CCD, Dominos or you can order on phone and they will deliver at your hostel. I hope this helps.
