How is the placement assistance of Thapar University?

Placements at Thapar University are really good. Even in this COVID-19 pandemic also, companies visited our campus until January, and almost every student got placed. Even getting a salary package of above 10 LPA from the computer engineering branch is easier here. So, at this college, you don't need to worry about placements. The highest salary package offered is 45 LPA, and it was provided by D. E. Shaw.

The placement opportunity in Thapar is simply impeccable. Last year, almost 80 - 85% of students got placed with good packages in big companies like KPMG, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. The average package is around 7 Lacs per annum INR. The highest package goes around 40-45 Lacs. Since the faculty there have a strong corporate network, Internships provided to the students are quite good. It has a dedicated training and placement cell that makes sure that every student gets an internship. For ECE firms like Free Scale, S.T. Microelectronics take a few students, Texas Instruments does come but their process is pretty tough to crack Some IT firms were open to all branches but only CSE students could make it as the profile they hire for is software development, meaning. Start off in time to get on par with a few CS subjects and you may just crack it. Then there are firms like Deloitte, ZS, RBS which are again open to all branches for analyst profiles nothing much to do with CS(if non-tech profile). Core firms for other branches come at a lower frequency as compared to IT firms. like L and T, Honda, Tata Motors for mechanical engineering. Sometimes even reliance comes over for chemical branch (I am not sure about it). CS- top of the pile, loads of companies. Overall good placement!
