Is it a good choice to pursue M.Sc (Hons) in chemistry from LPU?

Dear Akib, Yes, it is a good choice to pursue M.Sc (Hons. ) in Chemistry from LPU. My sister did the same programme at LPU. M.Sc (Hons. ) is a two-year (four semesters) programme, covers all the three basic domains of chemistry I. e. , Physical, Organic, and Inorganic with equal weightage. In the first semester besides teaching fundamentals in chemistry, bridge courses such as Mathematics for chemists to medical background students and Biology for chemists to non -medical students are al s o tau g ht. Teach hin g of these courses is necessary to fill the gap and prepare them to study core courses like Quantum chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Bioinorganic Chemistry, and Natural Products courses. All the theory courses are well supported by extensive laboratory courses. Three-term long dissertation work is offered in the programme to inculcate the research aptitude. High-end and research-oriented courses are also added to prepare students for higher studies and other sectors. This programme also aims to produce professional chemists for various pharmaceuticals and chemical industries and prepare students to become effective academicians and good researchers to pursue a higher degree (M.Phil or M.Tech or Ph.D). This programme develops the potential in students to meet new challenges and lay the foundation of versatility and innovative thinking needed in a career as a professional chemist. Chemistry Few points that will help you to make your decision: Faculty: Most of faculty members are from IIT, IIIT, NIT, IIM, IHM or from elite Schools (India/Abroad. They have decade of experience. Faculty is really helping. Even they helps after regular university hours for projects. Standard of students: They did not compromise on the quality of the students. They have a rigorous admission process. Admission can be taken if you have good percentage and you have good percentile in entrance + marks in interview. Courses offered: They have ample of courses and also provides specializations. Batch size: In every section they had 4060 Students. Placements: University provides with opportunities and it's up to the students to grab it. LPU brings in lot more companies (apx. 450+). Its up to you how you prepare yourself for the placements and stand out from the herd. LPU provide different classes for placements which helps in grooming. Students are trained in Aptitude, Reasoning, free preparation for government Exams, Soft Skills and language training, Interview skills right from the 1st year, continuously for 2/3/4 ( duration of course) years till they get job. Fees: Scholarship is an Integral part of their fee Structure and fee is less as compare to B-schools. Better the student, lesser is the fee. Indeed yes if you have a research aptitude. M.Sc. In Chemistry at LPU is designed for the research aspirants and provoking " doing by yourself" approach. The learner has to do a unique three-term dissertation along with the core curricula. Industry certifications, MOOCs, Hackathons / Co-curricular Competitive events, Workshops, Guest lectures, Educational Trips, Live projects, Incubation projects, Community projects, projects with NGOs etc. Are an integral part of curriculum. I being an alumnae of LPU have an in depth knowledge about your quest. It is a pleasure to answer a query related to my University. Well, I am not actually from the department of Chemistry but my friends were from department of Mathematics and Chemistry both that came under the School of Chemical engineering and Physical sciences. That is why I have a bit knowledge about Chemistry faculty too. Moreover, their words and experience I felt LPU does have a knowledgeable and experienced staff. To the best of my experience, not particularly in the department of Chemistry but LPU overall has well qualified faculty, mostly IITians and NITians. Two of my friends are currently pursuing Ph.D. in Chemistry from LPU and they are doing so well. They have started publishing papers just after the title approval, this proves that the faculty over there is incredible.
