YES there is a entrance exam for LPU which is mandatory for few programs like B.Tech, LLM, Some PG programs and PhD.
For all other programs it is not mandatory though we advise you to take the exam as it can substantially increase your chances of scholarships.
LPU runs India's largest scholarship scheme on basis of LPUNEST which more than 50000 students have benefited from in last few years.

Yes, well, the test is called LPUNEST, it is an entrance cum scholarship test. Whereas the test is mandatory for some of the courses like engineering, agriculture and science and for other courses the student can give the exam for avail the scholarship. It depends on which course you want to pursue. If you want to take admission in engineering, it is mandatory or others it may not be. There is direct admission to some courses and in some its mandatory to qualify the LPUNEST exam and in some, LPUNEST exam + Interview.
LPUNEST is National Entrance and Scholarship Test for admission to various programmes in Lovely Professional University. This test forms the basis of eligibility for some of the programmes and for the scholarship for most of the programmes.

Please check the eligibility Criteria for this program:- Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent in Qualifying Exam.
Further, for a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium.
(5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants).
