Broadly described as studying the human thought, behavior, development, personality, emotion, motivation, and more, psychology has become a preferred career for many who are interested in the reasons behind human behavior. Gaining a richer and deeper understanding of these can help people achieve insights into their own actions as well as a better understanding of others. These skills are otherwise much sought after in many companies which have public dealing. Generally a Psychologist conducts scientific studies of behavior and brain function. Observes, interviews, and survey individuals to identify psychological, emotional, behavioral, or organizational issues and diagnose disorders. Coming to careers, the psychology grads can be hired as Clinical psychologist, Counseling psychologist, Educational psychologist, Forensic psychologist, Further education teacher, Health psychologist, High intensity therapist, Occupational psychologist, Psychological well being practitioner, Sport and exercise psychologist, Advice worker, Border Force officer, Careers adviser, Chaplain, Counselor, Detective, Education consultant, Human resources officer, Life coach, Market researcher, Mediator, Neuroscientist, Play therapist, Policy officer, Psychotherapist, Special educational needs coordinator etc. Life coach, Career counselors, detectives, mediators and special needs coordinators are much sought after careers these days. As the education, job and financial stability related stress levels are increasing day by day, there is a need of these kind of professionals to use their skills for various therapies and make people stress free and more productive. Many companies also hire professional psychologists to help the core team employees perform better and keep their creative juices flowing by employing the specific motivational tools. One unique instance : A university by the name of LPU has established the department of happiness ! To keep the freshmen away from homesickness and blues culture shocks!
From a Managers point of view, understanding psychology is a much needed for them. As a manger would definitely be interested in:
What drives people? And how can he influence behavior of team? How does the team react to stress? What methods to employ, to keep team motivated and extract the best out of it? Before I conclude, this sphere of study is very exciting and requires special bent of mind to go ahead. So chose your college/university wisely, B.A. Or B.Sc. Don't matter. DVD.

Psychiatrist or other medical doctor uses medication for treatment while Psychologists can only use talk therapy as a treatment. Sometimes peoples think that Psychologists and psychiatrist are the same professions, but they both are completely different.
