Are there any entrance exam/exams for admission in courses of aviation sector? Please share details.

Here I will try my best to explain about commercial pilot license course that can be done via a cadet pilot programme with two of the leading airlines in India. Currently, Jet Airways and Indigo Airlines carry out Cadet Pilot Programmes in India. These programmes are designed in collaboration with the best flying institutes in the world and they offer end to end solutions for aspirants straight from starting their aviation career to securing an airline job. Currently, both Jet Airways and Indigo Airlines carry out the programme in association with CAE. So a candidate can apply for the same by visiting their respective websites. The entire course is carried out in two phases. For phase one, there is an entrance exam that is carried out by the airlines. The questions are based on maths and physics and for a candidate to appear for the exams, he/she has to be a minimum of 18-years of age and must have cleared his HSC with maths and physics. Once the candidate meets all the criteria, they are sent to either USA, Australia, or India itself to complete their training and get a CPL issued. Once the candidate has their CPL, they are later sent for type rating either on the 737 or an A320 depending on the airline they chose. After completion of the type rating, they are later inducted into the airline as a Junior First Officer. These courses can cost anywhere between 85 Lakhs to 1.1 crores depending on the training location chosen. To conclude, there are no entrance exams for such courses, you can easily get admission in them if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Of course yes, you need to appear in entrance exam (not just appear, but make sure you scores good grades) in order to be in top college for Aviation. The exams are; (1) All India Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Entrance Exam. It is conducted by Indian Institute of Aircraft Engineering, Delhi. It is MCQ based exam. (2) Common Defense Service Test. (3) Hindustan University Entrance Test. It is conducted by Hindustan University. It is MCQ based. (4) Joint Entrance Exam (Mains & Advance). It is conducted by CBSE. MCQ based. (5) National Defense Academy. It is conducted by Defense Academy itself. It is also MCQ based followed by interview and physical fitness tests. Out of the above mentioned, I would suggest you to appear is JEEs and NDA exam, if you are really serious about Aviation career. JEEs Exam will helps you to take admission in IITs for aerospace engineering while NDA helps you for IAF pilot training.
