Can I apply to an IIM even after I have rejected a previous offer?
-
Yes, of course. IIM is a dream spot for all the students. Even if you rejected the first offer there is no issue for applying to IIMs. IIM is a dream destination for the students who require MBA. There are no rules and regulations for applying for the second time. And no application form asks about the first percentile. So, I suggest that you apply again and start preparing for the brain game. The educational standard of IIM is top class and lots of opportunities are awaiting you. So, prepare well and do your best.

Yes, you can surely apply for an IIM even you have rejected a previous offer. There are people who do get selected in newer IIMs but they apply again to get into top IIMs. The shortlists are based on CAT score and profile and the number of attempts are not considered. Normally, during the interview process as well, the interviewers do not ask about whether you were selected last time. If they do, then you can give a valid reason for your choice and make them understand the opportunity cost of your decision. If you wanted to have work experience before joining IIM, then you can justify your choice. Having said that, you should really th...more

Yes, you can able to apply to an IIM after you had rejected a previous offer also but you have to tell them a valid reason in the interview, why did you reject their offer before? Also, you have to convince them to get selected. You also have to tell them, why did you reject the offer before, did you get any better opportunity? How productive was the gap? They will ask you these kinds of questions. The main thing which you have to explain is that you are very productive and they can select you again. After this, if you are able to give a valid answer then surely you can get a chance.
Good luck. -
Yes, you can apply for that. The question is, why did you reject the offer earlier? You might have some valid reason for that. During the interview, they will definitely ask that to you. If you are able to give them a valid reason and convince them for the same then there is no issue regarding that. And also make sure that you have answered for where you had utilized that 1 year. And how productive it was, how much you have improved, what change you have come across. And how you are going to compensate the loss of one year.
All the best. -
The answer is yes. But you have to give CAT again and it is possible that you won't get called by the same institution again. But in general you can apply. So the only problem you might face is explaining why you refused the offer last time. You just have to be confident and tell your part of story. But don't be too honest, make them believe that you had genuine reasons for rejecting the offer. Maybe they won't even ask you about that, so you might not face any problems. But I would ask to think twice before rejecting any offer from top institutes. You have to carefully evaluate your options while taking such decisions.

There may be a hundred reasons why you rejected the offer. But you have to convince people if they ask. That's it. You can't state personal illogical reasons, they should sound good. By the way, the answer is YES. You can get admission into IIM after rejecting a previous offer the last year. It doesn't make you ineligible to apply for the course at IIMs or anything but it can do some things. In the interview, they can ask you why you rejected the previous offer if you were getting admission. Tell them good reasons.
Also, you should be able to improve in that one year. You don't want to go to the same IIM after rejecting the offer a yea...more -
Yes, you can apply to IIMS even after rejecting a previous offer. I know quite a few people who did not join IIM in a year but joined the next year. But you will have to appear for CAT again. CAT opens fresh applications every year. IIMs do not track the previous details such as previous CAT score, previous offers, etc. of any CAT applicant. Every year is a fresh start. But in case you choose to mention in the interview anything regarding rejecting a previous offer be prepared to back it up with a good reasoning. You will have to convince them that your decision for rejecting it was good. You may also choose to stay safe by not bringin...more
