Can I get admission in JBIMS, SIMSREE, K.J Somaiya, Welingkar through DTE CAP rounds? I have scored 94.2 percentile in CAT 2017.

I had a year drop in my engineering which I know is not very easy to explain in GD-PI process. So I want to know how can I get in colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, K.J. Somaiya, Welingkar etc. with 94.2 percentile in CAT without giving MAH-CET. I belong to Maharashtra State and from general category.

With general category, I guess it is difficult to get admission in the colleges you mentioned. You might have a slight chance in PUMBA, but, of course, you can appear for CET which compared to CAT is not difficult. So, getting a very good score in CET will definitely increase your chances of getting admission in JBIMS, SIMSREE, and PUMBA.

CAT cutoff for SIMSREE as per 2017 was 99.95 percentile and has been remained around the same percentile as per trends.

    Hello Hars,
You have fair chances for KJ and WELINGKAR apply through DTE process. But I will suggest you to give MAH-CET as you are from Maharashtra which is in March. And as you have one year gap in engineering that really doesn't matter that much you just have a proper explanations for that.
    Best of luck.

No, the cuttoff for above mentioned college is 97 percentile, and you need to score better. I am from Pumba, so I can answer about this college in detail.

You can apply for All India Seats through you CAT score. The cutoff percentile of JBIMS for All India Seats is usually 99.99 %. So, the chances are less on this front. However, you have good chances of getting calls from K.J.Somaiya and Welingkar. Since you are domicile of Maharashtra State, I would suggest you to appear for Maharashtra-MBA CET 2018. For JBIMS, last year the cutoff for general category was 99.92 percentile. You can check the cutoff of previous year's first cap round through the below link:

It is difficult to get in these colleges, but you can try your luck. Other option that I would suggest you is MBA in PUMBA, Pune University. For this, you will have to apply through centralized admission process (CAP) conducted by DTE, Maharashtra.

Through DTE CAP round, it is difficult to get into any of these colleges mentioned by you but you could apply for PGDM course of Welingkar as you stand a fair chance of getting through as they consider an overall score of GDPI, academics and your percentile. And PGDM course of Welingkar is the best as they offer a lot of opportunities like student exchange programs also Global Citizenship Programme and they offer placements in a lot of foreign firms which provides global exposure to the students.
