Can I get admission in JBIMS, SIMSREE, K.J Somaiya, Welingkar through DTE CAP rounds? I have scored 94.2 percentile in CAT 2017.

I had a year drop in my engineering which I know is not very easy to explain in GD-PI process. So I want to know how can I get in colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, K.J. Somaiya, Welingkar etc. with 94.2 percentile in CAT without giving MAH-CET. I belong to Maharashtra State and from general category.

You have chances of getting calls from K.J.Somaiya and Welingkar. JBIMS and SIMSREE will be a bit tough at this score. You can also apply for IITs and NITs. K.J.Somaiya and Welingkar will definitely call you. You can also look for other institutes like Great Lakes, BIM-Trichy, IFMR, GIM, LBS-Delhi, FORE, IMI-Delhi, TAPMI, SIBM-Bengaluru, IMT-Ghaziabad/dual degree course, MICA. A good score is other entrance exam will also open options in TISS and Narsee Moonjee.

Colleges under DTE accept MH-CET course.
Your percentile may get you through the cut-off and shortlist but it further depends on your performance in the GD/PI.

For MS courses MH-CET is mandatory. For PGDM you can apply from outside. Your score is pretty good. So, don't worry about the drop year.

DTE CAP rounds is for MS Admission. CAT is eligible mostly for IIMS. Some colleges do accept that. For this purpose, you need to go to college website.

    Hello,
Among all the colleges mentioned, only Welingkar and Somaiya consider that CAT score since the cutoff for both JBIMS and SIMSREE is above 99 percentile due to fewer seats.

I am sorry but the above-mentioned colleges have pretty high cutoff ranging from 99.5 percentile for Welingkar to 99.99 for JBIMS. Since the exam you have mentioned is CAT, it comes under All India seats and the cut-offs for such seats are always high. There are many other colleges which you can apply for with this score like the new IIMs and IMT Ghaziabad, GIM, Somaiya PGDM, etc. Also, please try CET Maharashtra to enhance your chances for colleges mentioned above and try to keep the score anywhere between 99.00 to 99.99.
    Good luck.

These colleges are one of the best colleges from Maharashtra that students seek for MBA. I recommend you to apply to these colleges, but usually the cut off for them goes around 99 percentile.
