As per my knowledge, Roommates for freshers are allotted randomly based on first come first serve basis. Still you want to book with your friend, I would say you a drop a email to residential department or admissions department. After completion of your first year rooms will be available for you to

Well, it is quite easy and difficult at the same time there two option though which you can do that. Mutual Shifting Ask your roommate/your friends' roommate to exchange his seat with yours/your friends. Go To the warden office and submit a mutual shifting form available in UMS. Once, he approves it
