    Just to clarify, no book or teacher can make you a director. See, a film director makes films and films are a medium for story telling. So, you need to have a story, you need to find your own voice and this, fortunately, or unfortunately, will be your never-ending-personal-struggle. But you can learn the technical aspects of film-making and that's where books and teachers come into the picture. Now, since we're over with the rough part, I can suggest a few books now.
