Can you tell me residential facilities and safety measures adopted by LPU during COVID-19 pandemic situation? I want to opt for residential.

I was also having the same thing in my mind as my niece took admission this year in LPU but on inquiring I was also having the same point of safety measures in my mind for one of my niece who took admission in LPU for this year. She opted for residential facility. I was very delighted to know the facilities provided by the university. I will highlight a few : 1. Separate residential Facility for the students with different seater. 2. Rooms are with B.Ed study table, chair, almirahs, desert cooler and geyser. 3. AC rooms are also available in the above category. 4. Differential food facility 5. Laundry facility 6. Gym facility to remain fit 7. Safety and security to be the most prior 8. Over and above the medical facility being provided inside the beautiful campus. 9. Mess and canteen facility in every hostel is there. 10.24*7 electricity supply and Wi-Fi. 11. There are general facilities such as :dedicated hotline and power backup for 24 hrs power supply at university campus. 12.60+ATMs of 5 nationalized banks and Post Office facilities for money transfer, speed post, etc. 13. Study room, TV room, Saloon, Photocopy Machines, Departmental store for daily needs, Cafeteria, vending Machine (soft drinks), Lifts and Parking facility. 14. University-Mall, an eight- storied complex, houses departmental stores, various shops, banks, food-courts. These help students to meet their daily needs on the campus itself. I inquired from the admission officers who told that LPU has followed all the directions especially of social distancing given by Central/State Government as of now and will also follow the same. LPU has taken some of the major initiatives for the well-being of students, staff and faculty: 1. Wearing of mask by all 2. Daily sanitation 3. Strict rules of movement 4. All the hostel rooms and buildings are sanitized and unnecessary movement of anyone is prohibited 5. No big gathering 6. Thermal scanners Over an above nearly 4000+ cameras are installed in University for the safety and security of the student. Now, I believe if the institution is taking so much effort then probably there is no need to worry. I also overheard alot for LPU that LPU believes in delivering what it promises to deliver.

Till now university management played a very good role in handling everything which is important in pandemic. Before the actual lockdown university sent us to home for our safety and as per the government orders then they provided each and everything to us through online mode using ( UMS, LPU Live app, Googlemeet). LPU would make sure the workplaces are clean and hygienic, surfaces (e. g. desks and tables) and objects (e. g. telephones, keyboards) would be wiped with disinfectant regularly Because contamination on surfaces touched by staff and students is one of the main ways that COVID-19 spreads. LPU would make it mandatory to wear masks. LPU hostels are one of the best designed student accommodations. Since it follows all the norms and ensures the proper sanitation of the hostels everyday, it is one of the safest campuses in the country. The staff and students are sensitized regularly and strict rules and regulations have been laid down for the safety of students. More over there is a fully equipped in house hospital, god forbid if there is any urgency.

Hi, There are multiple measures taken at the University to ensure safety and security during COVID times. They include :- CAMPUS PREPAREDNESS: Temperature and other checks at entrance points of the university. All the members of faculty and staff are required to follow the COVID-19 related policies and requirements as stated by State/ Central Government. Additional measures include: Regular Cleaning & Disinfecting of workspace. Restrictive entry in the campus for all outsiders. 24X7 medical and health support through in-house Campus Hospital. Work from home option given to members having any health concerns. INITIATIVES IN RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES: To ensure the safety of students who would be residing in hostels, university has planned following initiatives: Regular Thermal scans for every individual entering the hostel premises. Respiratory Masks to be worn by everyone at the time of leaving the room. Sanitation of hostel rooms and other infrastructure facilities like common rooms etc. Including play areas as per government. Norms Timing of consuming food in the Hostel mess to be staggered to ensure social distancing norms. Option of packed food and room service is also being explored. University Hospital situated at the heart of the campus is fully equipped to take care of the medical needs of the staff and students and is operational 24x7 with following facilities to manage all sort of medical emergencies. 25 bedded hospital staffed with well qualified doctors, nurses and lab technicians. Full time qualified doctors including a general physician, pathologist, ophthalmologist, dentist along with a physician from traditional Ayurvedic system of medicine. Visiting specialists once a week for providing specialty clinics. Tie up with Twenty-five hospitals for referral cases requiring specialised medical intervention. Equipped to provide various services such as handling emergencies, minor surgeries at university Hospital 24X7 Chemist shop where medicines are available at subsidized rates. Qualified psychologists available for counseling. Physiotherapy OPD available with experts for handling cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, sports and pediatric physiotherapy. Specialised labs have been set up including Electro diagnostic and Electro therapeutic modalities, Orthopedics and Sports Rehab, Neurological Rehab, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, and Pediatrics Rehab.
