Do I have to give the FMGE exam even if I don't want to practice in India? Moreover, if I pass USMLE exams, am I exempted from writing FMGE?

If you do not plan to practice medicine in India, then you do not need to take the FMGE. The FMGE is mandatory for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who wish to obtain a license to practice medicine in India after completing their medical education abroad. Regarding the USMLE, if you pass all the steps of the USMLE that are required and you get your medical license in the United States, you are exempt from taking the FMGE for practising in India.
