No, you do need to know Swedish when studying in Sweden because the majority of programs at Swedish universities are taught in English. However, it is always good idea to learn little bit of Swedish, because that will help you to interact well with the local and integrate well with the Swedish society. The majority of postgraduate programs in Swedish universities are offered in English language and that makes Swedish universities very attractive among international students. However, international students need to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language.
