Do the companies that come for placement ask for class 10th & 12th scores? Do they consider best 5 subject score or the overall percentage?

This depends on the company. For example, companies that offer finance roles, they consider these marks. In fact this is their first criteria to shortlist people. Other companies do not give this level of importance to your 10th and 12th standard marks. They'll look at the marks mentioned in your resume, best five or any other.
