Do video editors need to have either training or experience of graphic design to be able to do justice to their role as video editors?

<p>Hello,</p><p>This is one of the most appropriate questions about video editing careers. It has been observed very closely that graphic design skills are truly an addition to the skills of video editing. Graphic design/photo editing/corrections in still photography help the video editor in designing creative that are to be used as banners in the videos. Not everything that is there in the video (motion) photography is all in all of the editing. For example, someone who uses FCP or Adobe Pro for editing of films/documentaries or other video stuff shall always need some graphics editing assistance and if the same person knows Photoshop/Illustrator/Coral Draw etc., the prospects become far strong than the one who merely knows video editing. Further, a video editor can create a better and successful career by having three things on his profile:</p><ul><li>Graphic design skills</li><li>Camera work/capturing skills</li><li>Audio editing skills</li></ul>

You don't absolutely have to do that, but you should. Video editor and graphic designer are 2 professions, but they are sort of interconnected. One helps the other. If you know the graphic design you'll be able to do your job easier and provide higher quality videos. Via graphic design, you'll be able to share the information better way. The way that everyone could catch the video. Also, the knowledge of graphic design will make your videos look more beautiful because the first thing that graphic designers learn is colors. This way they create the exact atmosphere that fits the videos' content. Graphic design is, thus, art combined with information. Again, you do not have to know it, but it can be really helpful for video editors.
