Practical methods should be given more importance. I have seen in IIT's and NIT's the method is teaching is conventional and they hardly update there syllabus. in contrast i have seen that in universities like lovely professional university (from where one of my frd studies), their methodology is very advanced, there teaching practises are diffident and modern. They give more emphasizes on practical knowledge.Surprisingly they update there syllabus after every term (6 months) as per the market requirements on the other hand government university ones established never change there syllabus even after years and years.

There shall be a balance between theoretical and practical skill sets. Without learning theory it will be difficult to put knowledge into practice and will not be useful from scientific and technological point of view. A right blend of theory, general, learning and experimental skills, commonsense commensurate with good practical skills in what i s required from scientific point of view. Doing practicals without knowing theory is just like a child scribbling without knowing what he is truing to write. .
